Greetings. Salutations. Buenos dias. Guten Tag. Salut!

Sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip, that started on the top of a pile, a pile of potato chips...

Well, not quite, but good enough for government work as they'd say.

My plan, for those that are interested (both of you), is to chronicle my dalliances in athletics and paleolithic nutrition. There are a multitude of websites developed by very knowledgeable people that will provide you with much more information on both subjects. My angle is to present a very biased viewpoint on training methodologies and eating habits. Biased in the sense that I'll be writing about myself and what I find interesting.

I currently try to stay fairly strict with my 'paleo' eating. I try very hard to stay away from grains, although I find my homemade chocolate chip pancakes to be irresistible. At some point I will try my hand at making "paleo"-cakes (my apologies to Kurt Harris). I eat mostly animal products and veggies. I've been trying to keep fruit intake lower these days, limiting fruit generally to breakfast, and I'll occasionally eat some nuts (macadamias are the best), or some almond butter (our local Whole Foods has an almond butter press which makes it too easy to partake).

My training on the other hand can only be labeled as "spotty". I did a set of chin-ups to failure the other day in my garage. I think that was my only workout this month. I'm taking classes to get my MBA, working on a personal trainer certification, and trying to be a good dad, on top of working a job that takes me 1.5 hours to get to every day. I seem to have precious little time to do much of anything. I will be making a concerted effort to get some quality training in here since I just signed up to run the Maryland Half Marathon on May 23rd. Go here: http://mdhalfmarathon.com/alscott if you'd like to donate to the cause.

When I do train, it consists of Crossfit-esque workouts. I do some of the main page WODs, but lately I've been following the stuff that Freddy Comacho puts up out at One World (www.crossfitoneworld.com). I really like the concept of integrating strength work with metcon work.

My plan will be to post my food intake, my workouts, and hopefully some additional information that I find interesting. If anybody out there finds any of it interesting as well then that's a bonus.
